First edition. .Written by F.W. Fitzsimons, Director of the Port Elizabeth Museum and Snake Park. With 44 Illustrations A unique copy, specially bound (ca. 1975) by Sangorski & Sutcliffe (stamp-signed in gilt on the front turn-in) in three-quarter gray and black snakeskin over gray morocco boards. Smooth spine with gray morocco gilt lettering label and with date stamped in gilt at foot of spine. All edges gilt.
