"May blessings be upon the head of Cadmus, the Phoenicians, or whoever it was that invented books." -Thomas Carlyle

Welcome to my virtual book collection. Since collecting actual books is somewhat cost-prohibitive, I've begun to amass all of the books I would love to have if I had the means. Some are new, lots are old, all are unique or beautiful or unusual or in some other way have captured my fancy. Enjoy browsing!

Samarkande - 20 Compositions en Couleurs dans le Style Oriental. Seguy, Eugene Alain. Paris, Charles Massin, Librairie Générale de l’Architecture et des arts Décoratifs, (ca. 1925).

Brilliant series of colour pochoir plates with floral designs in Art Nouveau style with an ‘Oriental touch’ by Eugene Alain Seguy (1889-1985), one of the foremost French designers at the beginning of the 20th century. He worked in both the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles and published many design folios utilizing the pochoir technique, a printing process that employs a series of stencils to lay dense and vivid colour. The designs could be used for fabrics for dress and furnishing but also for wallpapers and carpets.
